The D.A.P spray is a dog appeasing pheromone spray that is veterinary recommended to help calm and comfort dogs and puppies at times that may cause them stress.
The pheromone is a reproduction of those released by lactating females to reassure their offspring. Research has shown that this still has a calming effect even in adults.
The spray can be used inside or out and are especially useful for situations that can cause stress such as car travel, new environment such as moving house or kennels, visiting the vet, thunderstorms or fireworks and generally any situation that may upset your pet.
Using the spray can also help reduce fear related reactions like destruction, barking and crying, salivation, vomiting, excessive panting and toileting in the home.
The spray should be pumped 8-10 times, 15 minutes prior to any expected events and before your dog is introduced to the environment. Effects should last approximately 1-2 hours, but each dog will respond differently. The application should be sprayed after this time or if you notice a reduction in the effects. D.A.P. spray can also be used directly on bedding, inside cages, in kennels or the car.
